Street art is a new strategic direction of the Winzavod Fund for the Support of Contemporary Art. The direction is curated by Sabina Chagina, the creator of the ARTMOSSFERA creative association.
The ARTMOSSFERA and Winzavod have been supporting street art for many years. The main project of the ARTMOSSFERA Street Art Biennale-2018 was held at Winzavod. Since 2016, the association has been supervising the WALL project, in which street artists update the main wall layer in the wall of Winzavod. Future joint plans are about to continue work on the development of the art quarter around the CCA Winzavod.
The main directions are the organization of the ARTMOSSFERA Street Art Biennale, which is planned for 2022; festivals and educational events - both in the capital and in the regions; maintaining a dialogue with the city regarding projects in the field of street art and public art. The global goals of the ARTMOSSFERA —creation of a platform to support street art, its legitimization and integration into the field of contemporary art. Further plans and holding of the ARTMOSSFERA Street Art Biennale will be announced soon.
For eight years of work, the ARTMOSSFERA creative association, which had the status of a self-organized initiative, has implemented a number of resonant and iconic projects for the field of contemporary art. The flagship of the association was the ARTMOSSFERA Street Art Biennale, which was held in 2014, 2016 and 2018 — no analogues in the world bienniale for artists with a street art background.
