Street gallery NOWALLS

The first legal street gallery NOWALLS – the point of entry to the urban space of the Art Quarter, which since 2019 unites the Center of Modern Art Winzavod and the Artplay Design Center. 

The gallery was initiated by the Winzavod Modern Art Center, the project continues the legendary WALL, which for ten years stood in the space of the art cluster. STAN worked as a bridge between the independent street community and the professional art community. Several times a year on WALL appeared bright statements of street artists, involving the general public in interaction with art, and professionals presenting new names.

WALL went beyond CCA Winzavod in 2019 and now it is a street gallery NETSTEN. The name of the gallery uses the word palindrom from the work of the artist Ivan Simonov, shown on the wall in 2019

The gallery is located on the way from the metro Kurskaya, along the railway tracks, and it is more than 100 meters of modern art. The project became possible due to support of Moskomarchitecture and assistance of «RZD». 

The first exhibition of the street gallery NETSTEN became the project together with the Moskomarchitecture «Architecture of words». The exhibitors were –  Slak_Aesthetics, Dima Retro, Cyril Cto, Petro_Aesthetics and Ivan Nightty. 

The second landmark project of the Street Gallery was the exhibition «So-edinenie» – a joint project of the Moskomarchitecture and CCA Winzavod. Roma Muratkin, Misha Most, Alexei Luka, Olya Iney, Sasha Blot, Vova Nootk reflected on the urban environment and its interaction with modern art.  

The third exhibition of the street gallery NOWALLS became a teaser for the IV Biennale of street art ARTMOSSPHERE, the theme of which also became the name for the new layer of the gallery - “Community: partnership - collectivity - utopia”. Six Russian artists took part in the creation of the exhibition: Ashesteen, Turben, Scheme, Sergey fas, Malyshev Evgeniy (JöN), Peeks.

The fourth exhibition of the NOWALLS street gallery was developed by Moskomarchitektury and CCA Winzavod in the direction of Urban + Art.  Gosha Ykor, Zhihar, Zhenya Voynar, Andrey Aznet, Sergey Ovseikin (Zukclub) and Nikita Dusto presented their reflections on the topic "The Way of Communication".

Dmitry Aske, an artist and researcher of street art, became the curator of the fifth exhibition of street art by the NOWALLS street gallery from Moskomarchitektura and the Central Research Institute Winzavod "Rhythm of the City: from Sunrise to Sunset". 6 colorful murals of modern street art artists appeared on a wall almost a hundred meters long, each of which showed his own idea of the rhythm of the city, its faces and the plots that unfold hourly on the streets. Sasha Elshi, Alexey Mednoy, Denis Kibeda, Sergey IMAN, Timur FORK and Ilya Case presented their works.

At the sixth exhibition of the NOWALLS street gallery "Warm Embrace of the Capital", curator Dmitry Aske selected six artists, each of whom embodied the idea of the city in autumn and winter. Artists Anton Sputnik, Seryozha acse, SY, Nikita Khodak, Dmitry Drenin, NADYA.O took part in the project.

The seventh layer of the NOWALLS Street Gallery presented the Figure of Speech exhibition, curated by Alexei Partola, about the evolution of visual language and taking the viewer through a series of images through the pages of the history of fine art. Participants: STFNV, DYOMA, JöN, IMA, 0331c, Grisha.

At the eighth exhibition of the NOWALLS street gallery "Urban Axis", curator Alexey Partola invited three artists Andrey Adno, Nikita Dusto, Shozy to enter into a deep dialogue with transitions, layering and perspective "axes".
