As part of the XXXIII International Festival "Architecture 2025", Moskomarchitecture and the Winzavod Center for Contemporary Art, with the support of the Moscow government, presented the exhibition project "No More WALLS". This is a visual study of Moscow street art and its transformation into an element of the new culture of the metropolis. This was stated by Sergey Kuznetsov, Chief architect of Moscow, First Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Architecture and Urban Planning (Moskomarchitektura), which is part of the Complex of Urban Planning Policy and Construction of the capital.
The No More WALL stand is an invitation to see how street art becomes part of a conscious urban policy and helps to take a fresh look at familiar routes. The project shows how street art transforms fr om an element of underground culture into an instrument of urban policy, bringing people together, revitalizing space and filling the streets with creative energy.
"Street art is not afraid of time. His strength is not in eternity, but in the precision of hitting the moment. The city is a living organism, and its visual language should be updated just as naturally," says Sergey Kuznetsov, the curator of the project. – Our goal is to create an ecosystem wh ere professional artists have the opportunity to express themselves creatively in the city. Regulation here is not censorship, but the rules of the game that make the process transparent and fair. We want art to become a natural part of urban culture, so that business sees it not as a burden, but as an investment in meanings. The permanent process of public art appearing in the city is a sign of a healthy artistic environment. Street art should live in the rhythm of the city: appear, sound, leave, making room for new voices."
The concept of the exhibition stand was developed by the KRNV architectural bureau. The exhibition demonstrates street art as a complex system of interactions between the artist, the city, business and society, revealing his energy, which is always "on the edge": between the moment and eternity, between freedom and the system, between the personal and the general. The exhibition includes photographs and sketches of striking projects: NOWALLS, Angel, Agatha, Hesse mural and others, as well as an interactive map of urban interventions.
Curator of the project: Sergey Kuznetsov, Chief Architect of Moscow.
Co-curators: CCA Winzavod, Sergey Kuznetsov's press secretary Maria Ulyanova, curator of exhibition, educational, and publishing programs at Moskomarchitecture Irina Kuznetsova.
