Truth or dare

Winzavod.Experiment
CCA Winzavod presents the group exhibition "Truth or dare" within the framework of the Winzavod program Experiment. The project brought together eighteen artists under the curatorship of Olya Makhno and Sasha Pavlovskaya.

The exhibition addresses the phenomenon of lying not as an ethical problem, but as a universal mechanism of existence. The concept is based on observation: untruth surrounds everyday life not in the form of deliberate deception, but in the form of habit, instinct, a way to preserve oneself and what is dear.

"After all, if you think about it, sometimes untruth turns out to be the only way not only to distance yourself, mythologize, encrypt, but also to preserve and protect everything that is dear," says Olga Makhno.
Co-curator Sasha Pavlovskaya adds another dimension: untruth exists even without words — it consists of innuendos, glances, gestures, becoming a state in which the boundaries between the source and the addressee disappear.

The exhibition features artists with different backgrounds and backgrounds — graduates of the Winery's Open Studios and Workshops, artists with an international exhibition history, and those who are just entering the institutional field. Among the participants: Anastasia Litvinova, Sasha Pavlovskaya, Alexandra Nesterkina, Anastasia Dozortseva, Evgenia Bolyukh, Daria Setevinets, Nat Tinyakova, Olga Vasilyeva, Pavel Sokhatsky, Anastasia Armeeva, Olya Makhno, Tanya Starovoitova, Alina Yambayeva, Misha Levin, Evgenia Sterlyagova, Olga Tumanova, Anastasia Geraskina, Ira Konyukhova. Among them are artists working in painting, sculpture, media art, ceramics, and illustration; with experience participating in international residencies and fairs.

The Winzavod's program. The experiment is aimed at institutional support for emerging artists, helps to "build up" the exhibition experience and provides a space for artistic or curatorial experiment.
The program meets the need for a vibrant, flexible space where one can freely try, explore, and refine one's own artistic or curatorial method.

Winzavod projects. An experiment is being born inside the CCA Winzavod — these are initiatives by residents of Workshops and graduates of Open Studios with the opportunity to present ideas in an exhibition format. The program supports both artistic and curatorial experiments, allowing authors to master institutional exposition tools.

The following exhibitions were held within the framework of the direction: "Zebras are very beautiful" by Stepan Lysenko, "Get lost in this day" by Tina Shibalova, "Khrushchev girls also go to Heaven" by Dina Borovik, "Unnamed Void" by Katya Ulitina, "Sheep Hunting" by Evgenia Bolyukh and Ivan Repkin, "The Flow of tubes" by Katya Afonina and Tina Shibalova, "Feedback Form" by Kati, "Unsportsmanlike Behavior" by Sergey Nikitin, "Through the Red Forest" by Evgenia Voynar, "Season of Navigation" by Ekaterina Gerasimenko.

Experimentation is a process in which search and courage are important. In this area, CSI Winzavod plays the role of a professional consultant and expert, providing support and visibility to those who are just starting to work in the field of contemporary art.
