We can speak with certanty that the artists of the 20th century transferred their techniques to their descendants, the artists of the 21st century. The whole history of art of the last century turned out to be literally composed a variety of trends, movements, conclusions and manners. Each artist wanted to be unique, emphasizing their dissimilarity by inventing something new. Due to the constant rotation and transformation, these author's styles very often became a closed system, the potential of which was not used up all the power.
In his personal project, Sergey Ovseykin offers a possible solution – to accumulate the potential formal capacity of already invented artistic directions. According to the author: "The best style is the absence of style, because in this way it is impossible to become its hostage". With the condition that each work has a certain meaning, united by a common theme, a completely different view of what the author's manner of modern artistic vision can be is born from this "patchwork quilt".
Sergey Ovseykin's works simultaneously refer to several recognizable trends, or even to certain artists at once. Moscow conceptualism gets along well with op-art, and De Chirico's metaphysical painting finds a common language with Koons' neo-pop. Moreover, the visual beauty and refinement of the drawing contrasts with its internal content, the theme of which is given deliberately straightforwardly.
Thus, the usual similarity of artworks is replaced in the project by a fundamental visual heterogeneity, united at the level of thoughts and ideas, for which extra words will be useless.
