Zine Island Publishing House presents the project "On Paper" by Vyacheslav Butusov. Original artifacts fr om family archives, prints, reprints and works of friendly authors in the Union Printing gallery at Winzavod from May 25 to June 15, 2021
Vyacheslav Butusov is known to everyone as a musician. To some, as a writer. And almost to anyone, like an artist. But that's wh ere it all started. Vyacheslav drew well and went to study at an architectural institute, and there (in the Sverdlovsk Archives) everything else began - music, a rock club and indefatigable creativity. Vyacheslav's graphics accompanied wall newspapers at the Institute, poems by friends-poets in thematic books (Ilya Kormiltsev and the Time Machine), postcards to relatives and sketches of covers for Nautilus Pompilius albums. The drawings went in a parallel line with the music, they have always been. Although they transformed over time from ink sketches into digital collage works.
The curatorial project contains various manifestations of WB graphics on paper - his images and images from him. The parallel of the coexistence of the images of the musician and his own graphic works is considered. From a simple but endlessly repeating autograph, which is the most elementary but powerful graphic sign, through photocopied posters from the 90s, to a sacred author's picture on canvas.
