Invariants of light
Eva Arakcheeva's solo exhibition, "Invariants of Light," is the artist's third collaborative project with the gallery.
In her artistic exploration, Eva Arakcheeva turns to philosophical principles. Following her first trip to Italy, she created a new series of works, "Invariants of Light," conceptually continuing her exploration of the facets of thought embodied in the visual form of derealism—a concept developed by the artist. In this new project, the artist explores light as an integral component of our perception of reality.
"Understanding the world is possible not only through scientific means, but also through intuition, sensory experience, and insight. However, to achieve this, the subject's consciousness must expand. Such expansion is possible through reflection, reverie, dreams, and memories. These processes are windows into the diversity of reality in which a person finds themselves. However, the physiological limitations of perception prevent us from fully understanding it. "A person can only see reflections, gleams, and glows. Light can take many forms: a candle flame, a mirror reflection, a glint from a window, or an intellectual flash, but its primary property—illuminating darkness—remains constant," says Eva Arakcheeva.
