The exhibition of printed graphics by Nikon Filippov "– And it happens." will open in the PiranesiLAB office at the Central Exhibition Center Winzavod. Nine episodes, "born out of a pure love of drawing." Weirdos, cars, mosquitoes, robots and monstrous creatures are found in industrial back streets and fantastic landscapes. Autonomous scenes form into a single, bizarre sequence, like fragments of a world where everything can be nearby.

The mise‑en‑scène settings, created using the intaglio printing technique, gain multiple plot developments thanks to the author’s graphic additions, which prevent any printed image from being fully reproducible.

“…The feet of crooked people step onto the sand, a man with an iron body looks towards the setting sun. Nearby, large cranes have met at a watering hole. Ships hum from the shore all the way to the horizon…”

About the artist
Nikon Filippov (b. 1992) is an artist and graphic designer. Graduated from the S.A. Gerasimov Russian State University of Cinematography, majoring in animation and multimedia art (2016).
